Phyllis Buck

–

White Haven, Pennsylvania

Phyllis Jennie Buck, beloved mother, talented baker, and caring friend, was born on May 18, 1947, in Bristol, PA. Phyllis was both a dedicated and humble soul who made the world a more flavorful place through her gifted hands and thoughtful heart. She created a legacy of love, caring, and the most delicious baked goods that will forever linger in the hearts and memories of those she touched. Phyllis went home to be with the LORD on February 17, 2024, leaving a void in our hearts that can only be filled when we see her again in heaven.

Phyllis grew up on King's Farm in Tullytown, PA, later moved to the Lakeside Section of Levittown, and was a graduate of the former Delhaas High School. Life eventually led her to the picturesque Pocono Mountains in 2010. Most recently she was living with her son, Jerry, and daughter-in-law, Jackie, in White Haven, PA.

Her love for baking was not just a hobby but a passion that she turned into a flourishing career. Phyllis ran her own bakery business, creating beautiful wedding and birthday cakes, cookies, pies, pastries, as well as homemade chocolates and Easter candies. Phyllis' home was always filled with the wonderful aroma of homemade treats, as most of her time was spent baking and cooking. She also loved preparing meals, pies, and danishes for the Pastors at her church.

Beyond her exceptional cooking and baking skills, Phyllis was also a talented knitter and crocheter and belonged to a quilting club for a short time. She was always there for others, and her humble, caring nature was evident in every aspect of her life. Phyllis was not just a wonderful mother to her son, Jerry, but a loving friend to many.

She is survived by her son, Gerald Buck, Jr. "Jerry" and his wife Jackie; grandchildren, Dalton Buck and his wife Jessica, Desiree Morris and her husband Ben; great grandchildren, Chloe, Clayton and Teagan Buck and Ethan and Carson Morris. She will also be deeply missed by her step grandchildren; Dylan Tackley and his wife Shelby, and Tara Tackley; step great grandchildren, Lydia, Luna and Skyla Tackley; nephew Joe Strong, Sr. and his wife Danielle; great nephew, Joe Strong, Jr., great niece, Kourtnie Ward and her husband Connor, and great-great nephew, Krew Ward.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Buck, Sr. "Jerry"; her parents, Gregory and Jennie Parto; sister Jeanette Strong; brother Joseph Parto and daughter-in-law, Debbie Buck.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet her family on Friday, March 1, 2024 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at the Calvary Chapel of Philadelphia, 13500 Philmont Avenue, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 19116. A Memorial Service, in celebration of her life, will follow at 11:00 am. Interment will be private at the request of her family.

Phyllis lived a life of faith, dedication, and love, and though she is no longer here physically, her spirit lives on in the lives she touched and the memories she created. We know we will see her again because Jesus said, "...I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die...". John 11:25-26

We encourage everyone to share their memories of Phyllis and upload photos to her memorial page. Let's celebrate the life of a truly remarkable woman, Phyllis Buck. Her legacy of love, baked goods, and humble service will live on in our hearts forever.
