Norvel T. Frock, Jr.

–

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Norvel T. Frock, Jr., affectionately known as Dutch, lived a life marked by compassion, creativity, and an indomitable spirit. Born on January 17, 1941, in Baltimore, MD, Norvel grew up to be a man deeply committed to his family, faith, and community. A spirited soul, he found joy in music, whether harmonizing with his barbershop choir or lifting his voice in praise with the church choir at Bethesda Presbyterian Church of Philadelphia. His creative nature was evident in the way he approached life, always finding beauty and harmony in the simple things, much like the melodious notes he sang. Norvel's loving spirit touched all who knew him, and his heartfelt laughter and generous heart will be missed by many.

As a devoted husband to Marie since their marriage on September 19, 1968, and a loving father to Norvel III and Timothy, Norvel's family was the cornerstone of his life. He cherished his role as a grandfather to Beth, Hayden, Timothy Jr., Ashley, and Brianna, delighting in their accomplishments and sharing in their joys. Norvel's compassionate nature extended beyond his family; he was an active member of various church committees and a comforting presence to those in need. His love for fishing and crime shows provided him with moments of relaxation and reflection, offering him a peaceful balance to his vibrant community life.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Memorial Service on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, 4:00 pm at Bethesda Presbyterian Church 808 Red Lion Rd, Philadelphia, PA 19115.

Norvel's life was a testament to the verse, "Sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things" (Psalm 98:1), as he dedicated his life to singing praises through both word and deed. His legacy of love, kindness, and devotion will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. As we celebrate Norvel's remarkable journey, we invite you to share your cherished memories and upload photos to his memorial page, keeping his spirit alive in our hearts.
