Michael Joseph Darab passed away on October 8, 2026, after a valiant four-year battle with leiomyosarcoma.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, on June 26, 1944, he moved to Philadelphia in his early teens. Michael married his beloved wife, Janice (Everly), on April 16, 1977, and together, they raised their twin sons, Jonathan and Sean. Following his discharge from the United States Air Force, Michael worked for Bell Telephone and advanced to an engineer at Verizon. He was devoted to his family and spent most of his free time involved with his sons and their sports activities. In retirement, Michael became the trusted local IT specialist, sharing his computer knowledge and skills to help non-profits and neighbors. He also loved going on cruises and planning annual family vacations.
Michael was a loving husband, a devoted father, a doting grandfather, and a supportive brother. He is survived by his wife, Janice; his sons, Jonathan (Meaghun) and Sean; his granddaughter, Charlotte; his brother, Johnson; and his sister, Jody Connolly. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, John and Anna May Darab; his brother, Andrew; and his grandson, Benjamin.
