Daniel McNamara, Sr.

Daniel C. McNamara, Sr., age 94 passed away on August 16, 2022. Daniel was a longtime resident of Philadelphia. Daniel was the beloved husband of the late Mildred McNamara (nee Schoepe). He is the loving father of Kathleen McNamara, Coleen Ryan, her husband Tim, Daniel McNamara, Jr. and wife Katheryne. He will also be sadly missed by his grandchildren Julia Fugo (John), Nicole Gleason, Timothy Ryan (Jennifer), Casey Ryan (Kim), Katie Ryan, Charles Kirschner, great grandchildren David, Jacqueline, Peyton, Dereck, Joseph, Joshua, Jacob, Aiden, Nolan, other relatives and dear friends.
Daniel, Sr. was a World War II, Army Veteran and a former Philadelphia Police Officer with the Stakeout Unit (Swat). He was a Phillies, Eagles and Penn State Football fan and enjoyed watching them up to his last days, he loved to go to the Philadelphia FOP Lodge #5 on Friday and Saturday nights. He enjoyed a cold, rum and Diet Coke, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.

Relatives, friends and member of the Philadelphia FOP, are invited to greet his family Monday, August 22, 2022 from 9:15 am to 10:15 am at St. Katherine of Sienna 9700 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19114. His Mass of Christian Burial will follow Monday 10:30am at the Church. Daniel will be laid to rest following his Mass, with his wife at St. Peter and St. Paul Cemetery, with US Army Honors and Police Honors.
