Aleyamma Thomas

–

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Aleyamma Thomas, lovingly known as Jolly, 60, was called to her eternal Rest on Saturday, November 1, 2026. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she leaves behind a legacy of faith, warmth, and selfless love. Jolly was born on May 31,1966 in Vayalathala, Pathanamthitta, Kerala, India, to the late A.J. Philip and Annamma Philip of the Attatharayil House. In 1989, she married Thomas M. Thomas (Babu) of the Malethu House, Kozhencherry, and soon after the couple made their home in Thenkashi, Tamil Nadu. Their children, Gibi and Joby, were born in Kozhencherry and raised in Tamil Nadu, where Jolly built a home filled with love and faith.

Jolly is survived by her beloved husband of 37 years, Thomas M. Thomas (Babu); her daughter, Gibi Thoppil, Ajoy Wilson Thoppil (sil); her son, Joby Thomas, and Jeethu Anna Thomas (dil); her cherished grandchildren, Anaya Ajoy and Neheminthoppil; her mother, Annamma Philip; her brother, Rev. John Philip Attatharayil, and his wife, Beena John; her sister, Joggy Philip, and her husband, Alvin Alexander and many relatives and friends in India and America. She now rejoins her late father, A.J. Philip, who went before her to be with the Lord.

In 2013, she came to America, where she continued to be the heart of her family, now spanning generations. A dedicated homemaker, Jolly found her greatest joy in being with her family and caring for her mother, children and grandchildren. She was a wonderful cook who showed her love through the meals she prepared, and she treasured her daily walks. She also delighted in watching her favorite reality shows, often with family close by.

Above all, Jolly was a God-fearing woman whose faith guided every season of her life. Through joys and trials alike, she trusted in the Lord as her refuge, and her quiet strength was an example to all who knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Visitation at Christos Mar Thoma Church, 9999 Gantry Road Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19115 on Tuesday, November 10th, 2026 from 9:00 am to 11:30 am. A service to celebrate her life will start around 11:30 am. Jolly will be laid to rest in Pine Grove Cemetery on County Line Road in Hatboro.

As we gather to honor Jolly’s life, we invite you to leave your cherished memories and upload photos to her memorial page, celebrating the life of loving and faithful woman who touched so many lives.
