Rev. William A. Holmes, Jr. Obituary (1958

William "Bill" Arthur Holmes, Jr., 63, of Darby, PA went home to be with his Savior on January 27, 2022, surrounded by his loving wife and children after a short illness. Bill was born on March 5, 1958, to Lois (Schoonmaker) Holmes and William Arthur Holmes, Sr. in Goshen, NY. He grew up in Maybrook, NY and graduated from Valley Central High School, Orange County Community College and Philadelphia College of the Bible. Bill was the Pastor of Rhawnhurst Baptist Church in Philadelphia, PA. He loved his family hard, was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He also loved his New York Giants and Mets teams, but most of all he truly loved the Lord, preaching the Word of God and telling everyone he met about Jesus Christ. He leaves behind a beautiful legacy. Beloved husband of 38 years to Patricia, proud father to Elyssa Falls (Keith), Bethany MacArthur (William), Joshua Holmes (Devon), Melodie Wray (David), Caleb Holmes, Kaitlyn Holmes, Leah Zakorchemny (Andrew) and Noah Holmes. Cherished "Pop Pop" to 10 grandchildren: Graham MacArthur, Matthew Falls, Emma Falls, Corinne MacArthur, Naomi Falls, David Wray, Judah Falls, Andrew Zakorchemny, Jr., Madelynn Wray and Ezekiel Holmes. He is also survived by his sisters, Donna Shumskis and Nancy Schefcick (Jim) and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at 10AM at First Baptist Church of Collingdale, 814 Andrews Avenue, Collingdale, PA 19023 followed by a Celebration of Life at 12PM at the church.
