Rev. Dr. Martha Ann Moser Obituary (1941 - 2023)

Reverend Doctor Martha Ann Moser age 82 passed away on June 8, 2023. She leaves behind many friends. Martha was very active in her community, though visually impaired Martha never let that define her. If anything it opened doors for her. One of her desires was to have a ministry for the visually impaired. This happened in the early 2000s creating Victory Christian Outreach. Which met monthly, socially, devotionally and meals. Over the years she touched many others via CCT. Active in her church at Holmesburg United Methodist she taught Sunday School to adults and VBS to children. She was more than qualified for both of these positions having worked with the School District of Philadelphia in their library system for nearly 40 years. She also was a graduate of Lancaster Bible College, Jameson Schools of Theology where she graduated with her doctorate. If you knew Martha, you knew that she liked people. Never wanting anybody excluded, she would find a way to accommodate them. Long before the PLU Laws that began in the 1990s, Martha implemented new learning techniques for a child to succeed. This continued even after retiring from the school district. She began to volunteer in an English Language Learners Program at Northeast Community Church in Mayfair. Even when she could no longer attend she helped by communicating with students and testing. Martha had many other interests including animals, particularly cats. She liked to do puzzles and play games with friends. She enjoyed birds, flowers and teddy bears. She collected stamps and coins, many of which she obtained by visiting the countries. Her favorite trip was a cruise through the Panama Canal. When she no longer able to travel she traveled with her pen and phone keeping in touch with many people that she met over the years. Friends may gather on Saturday, September 30, 2023 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Lambie Funeral Home, 8000 Rowland Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19136. Martha's memorial service will follow at 11:00 am. Interment will be private.
