Ann C. Taylor Obituary (1938 - 2022)

Ann C. Taylor, daughter of the late Wallace and Rosetta Mason, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2022, at the age of 84. Ann was born in Richmond, Virginia on February 13, 1938. She moved to Philadelphia in 1954. It did not take long for her to realize that the food service industry was her passion. In the mid-1970s, she matriculated through The Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College and obtained a Culinary Arts degree. A highlight of her time as a student included an internship on a cruise ship in Paris, France. She went on to manage food services at Peirce Junior College for more than a decade. In the 1990s, she transitioned from higher education to the School District of Philadelphia, where she managed food services at Sulzberger Middle School until she retired in 2007. In addition, she was a loyal sales representative of Avon for over 30 years. Ann was proud to serve as an Elder at Berean Presbyterian Church. She loved worshiping the Lord and spending time with her church family. She lived a very active social life. Some of her favorite pastimes were visiting family and friends, locally and abroad. She also enjoyed attending cookouts and get-togethers. Ann was known for being a doting "dog mom" to Puff and Morgan, her two canine companions, who meant the world to her. Ann is survived by her brother Wallace Mason Jr., daughters Kim Keith and Charlotte Keith, son Jerome Parker, nephew Sherwood Mason (Bonnie), niece Saundra Watkins, granddaughter Amanda Kelly (Tom), and many dear relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lewis G. Taylor, Jr., daughter Avis McMichael, grandson Anthony Ham, sister Hazel Miller, brother Dwight Mason, sister-in-law Frances Mason and son-in-law Benjamin McMichael Jr. Her memorial services will be held at Berean Presbyterian Church, 2101 N Broad St, Philadelphia, PA 19122 on Saturday, May 21, 2022. A family calling hour will begin at 10 a.m. followed by the memorial service at 11 a.m. Ann will be laid to rest alongside her late mother Rosetta, daughter Avis, and grandson Anthony, at a later date.
